You walk into the room and stop for a second. Something feels off. Then you see it. Your couch has little bit marks in the corner, the leg of the table is scarred, and one of your shoes is missing. Your dog is gazing at you like nothing at all with that serene face.

You are most likely to have seen this in case you own a dog. It does not matter if it is a puppy or an adult dog. When they have the desire to chew, they will get something, even your favorite furniture.

After a tiring day you finally get down to sit and have a peaceful evening. The house is quiet a few moments, and your dog is lying close by, looking at you. Then suddenly the pacing commences. One moment your dog has moved to the other end of the room, then he or she gets up, looks around, and begins to chew something that he is not supposed to chew. You attempt to calm them down, perhaps call their name or present a toy, but nothing can seem to capture their interest long.

It tends to begin the same way. You give your dog a new chew hoping that it will keep him or her occupied at least a little while, maybe long enough so that you can sit down and have a rest. However, it only takes a few minutes to hear crunching and before you know it the chew disappears. Again your dog is looking at you, and it is almost as though he were requesting another.

You sit and take a rest after a long day, thinking that the house will remain silent for some time. Your dog is lying there on the floor serene and at ease and it seems as though it is one of those few peaceful times. Then unexpectedly you can hear a chewing. You head and find your dog chewing on something that was definitely not intended to be chewed on. It could be a slipper, or cushion corner, or even a bit of wood off the table leg.

It normally begins with a silent scene which cannot be maintained for long. At the end of a hectic day, you come down and sit down and probably have a cup of tea and this time, you think you are going to have your dog lying beside you. Rather, your dog stands up within a few minutes and strolls around the room and starts sniffing everything that is within sight. The bottom part of the sofa looks fascinating. The next target is then a shoe close to the door.
